1) I attend the University of Florida entering my third year not only as a student, but also as a member of the sorority Zeta Tau Alpha. My talents include organization, fashion skills, and creativity. I have skill in putting together outfits that are unique and accessorizing accordingly. I aspire to make sorority girls enjoy their time at her college/university and make the best of her experience. Being in a sorority is about making life-long friends and balancing social life with school work. Of course there are requirements, similar to any other school organization, but my goal is to make those requirements easier on the members.
2) I will create and organization kits that combine outfits and accessories to members involved in the rush process that occurs every year, and twice a year for some sororities. By designing kits sororities members will be able to receive full outfits at a cheaper price, with more efficiency and ease.
3) The demographic is very straight forward, simply sorority girls. The are woman typically between the ages of 18 and 22 attending a college or university that holds rush for incoming students to join a sorority.
4) From my personal experience at UF, sorority members are required to purchase 3-5 outfits for rush week. I see potential in meeting customer's unmet needs by making the process of shopping and purchasing faster and cheaper. By teaming with online stores and having a company brand as well, girls can simply enter the description of their requirements for each outfit and the website will automatically provide them with full outfits that match their needs, accessorized and complete. Discounts will can be provided for the more one buys. This eliminates the need for members to shop from store to store and mall to mall in search of multiple outfits and accessories. Everything can be done from the comport of home on a computer or mobile phone. College students are always looking for a cheaper and faster option with their busy lifestyles on a college budget.
5) There are many online stores that you can filter through specific color, sizes, styles, and more. Although, I have never found a website that creates an entire outfit head to toe. I plan to include clothing, jewelry, and shoes all in one. These sets will match and follow any requirements that the customer inputs to her order.
Overall, I see all these aspects fitting together greatly. I have spoken to many sorority members, past and current, that see great potential in this idea. I have not heard anyone say they enjoy or don't have a problem with shopping for hours and days to find a few outfits with accessories. It is not an easy thing to do, especially when there are so many other woman searching for the same look as you, in the same town, at the same mall. This business easily allows variety by choosing from a pool of online shopping sites. The University of Florida has 17 sororities and is continuing to expand. Each sorority has around 200 or more members. The rush process is very serious at UF, which is why I see a lot of potential. There may be weakness in accordance to other universities/colleges that greek life is not so prevalent at. Also, some schools do not take the process as serious as UF. Those sorority members may not get as much use out of a website like this. Possibly selling some items alone with out a full accessorized outfit would benefit those schools.
